Key Truth

Martha loved Jesus. She served Him faithfully. But she became so busy serving Jesus that she neglected simply being with Him. Mary chose to sit at His feet and listen. Jesus called this “the better part.”

Service is important. Ministry is important. Responsibility is important. But none of these can replace personal fellowship with Christ.

God does not first desire your work. He desires your heart.

Reflection

• Have you become more focused on serving God than spending time with Him?
• What practical change could help you slow down and enjoy God’s presence?

Pause and Pray

Spend three minutes quietly thanking Jesus for inviting you into a personal relationship with Him.

Do not ask Him for anything. Simply worship Him.

Action Step

Today, spend ten uninterrupted minutes simply enjoying God’s presence.
