Key Truth
Romans 8:1 is one of the most liberating verses in the Bible.
Notice that Paul does not say there is “less condemnation.”
He says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Why? Because Jesus already bore the condemnation that our sins deserved.
When God looks at those who are united with Christ by faith, He sees them clothed in Christ’s righteousness.
This truth does not make us careless about sin.
Instead, it gives us confidence to come to God quickly whenever we fail.
Reflection
- Do you believe there is truly no condemnation for you in Christ?
- What keeps you from believing this completely?
Prayer
Father, thank You that Jesus carried my condemnation so that I could receive Your acceptance. Help me to believe Your Word above my feelings. Amen.
