Psalm 103:8–14
Key Truth
Many believers say,
“I know God has forgiven me, but I cannot forgive myself.”
Often, this statement reflects a struggle to fully believe God’s promise of forgiveness.
The Bible never commands us to forgive ourselves. Instead, it calls us to receive God’s forgiveness by faith and to agree with His verdict rather than our own feelings.
When God forgives, He does not hold our confessed sins against us.
Holding on to guilt after God has forgiven us does not honor Him—it questions the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice.
Receiving God’s forgiveness is an act of faith and humility.
Reflection
- Are you holding on to guilt that God has already forgiven?
- What does Psalm 103 teach you about God’s heart?
Prayer
Father, help me trust Your promise of forgiveness. Teach me to rest in the complete work of Jesus rather than my own feelings. Amen.
